This is very fun, I really liked the element of the movable blocks!

I agree. It's a relaxing but fun game!

Congratulations! I finished your game, a very cool implementation.

Please, play my game, it's a puzzle game called "Alphabet Maze". You can learn some portuguese words in it, or just play in english.

This is so cute and fun! A lot of the time, platformers get too hard for me and I end up frustrated, but this one was easy enough that I was able to enjoy it :)

I completely loved this game. It is a good idea and it was really well developed, Nintendo style. I love the art style, simple but effective. The level design is exceptional! The music was nice, but I wouldn't have put that really loud bass in the background. The jump feels a bit floaty as well, and the sound is a bit basic.

Overall, an almost perfect game!

tht was fun :D

Very interesting. The game feels smooth, but in the first part of the game, in the bedroom, the background was a bit laggy. I don't know why, maybe because this game was built for bigger resolutions and my monitor isn't 1080P. Other than that good job!

The game has a very interesting idea. However, let's be honest, you won't be able to make a big game out of it without developing the mechanics. Although what is shown in the game is quite interesting. They will tighten the graphics, game design, and sound design, and it will be interesting.

(+2)

?? I thought all that was showcased would be great as is! Though, as with any game, adding more levels/characters/etc. would make it more fun to play for extended periods of time or over multiple sessions because there would be more to do.

As for, "They will tighten the graphics, game design, and sound design, and it will be interesting," I imagine your comment wasn't meant to come across as such, but this part sounds especially condescending since... well... the game is alreadyinteresting-- you said so yourself! Plus, all three of those aspects you mentioned are quite polished in-game. Like... d'you see those vines?? Dayumn! And don't even get me started on that crunchy ground texture-- mmmm!~

Overall, I'd say this game is one I'd love to come back to play again and again in the future!

I probably did not formulate correctly (And perhaps the translator is stupid, lol), I did not mean that the game is bad. I really like the idea itself. The game and the idea is great, but it is unfinished. Once again, I'm not saying that the game is bad, I want to say that it needs to be improved!!!

A-rank. Playing this game was a useful waste of time.

It was interesting to play this game, I have recorded and published gameplay on my little (hobby) youtube channel. I hope you are ok with this? :)

Yes! Totally okay!

(+3)

I love puzzle games and I really liked the game mechanic of this one.  It was not the same puzzle over and over again and therefore it remained being fun till the end. My only complaint would be that the game was too short.

Good games are ALWAYS too short! (wink)

(+6)

Loved it! Only minor change I would ask for is maybe if you click on the blue flower, it resets the root, because sometimes pulling it back the exact way it was was a tad tough. Not a huge issue though, it may break the game accidentally idk. Just an idea

(+1)

Great job with this game! Easy to get a feeling for the controls, and I love the root mechanics to help the onion.

(+1)

What a fun game! I enjoyed the puzzles :)

Wonderful

Super cute game! Love the concept and the mechanics were pretty interesting too :D

beat it

very fun thank you for making this ^-^

found a bug where you get stuck in a blue block

(+1)

Really nice game, I love the mechanics and the puzzles.

(+1)

i got stuck on the part where the 7 root pushes the mushroom up and the 3 root pushes it to the ground, i couldnt jump high enough can you please fix it?

(+1)

If you're talking about the spot I think you are, I was just stuck there myself until a minute ago. The 7 root has a second use.

(+1)

I was too. You need to put the 7 root down and to the left of the stones and push the mushroom up from underneath!

(1 edit) (+1)

cute

(+2)

Really good concept and executed really well! One small idea I would implement is to let the flowers retract completely when clicking on them, perhaps double click for safety. Saves some hassle. But really solid game, good basis to build far more upon!

COOL

great game 100% in 40-ish minutes really enjoyed it

Such a fun little platformer. Would love to see more of it. Keep up the great work!

I found a bug. pushed myself to the ground and I passed though it.

great game!

I don't have refined motor skills in my hands... I would love to be able to jump with the up arrow key

year 2023 use space for jump,is stupid idea.

(+1)(-1)

? Tell that to every FPS game ever made? Space is totally fine.

While I agree with your point, your argument is not really valid. In FPS games, 'up' is usually mapped to walking forward. That works differently in 2D game :-P

(-1)

I'm just saying that it's not a farfetched or backwards way of implementing it. It's just a simple choice. In the gaming community, it's an intuitive binding for many.

What I meant to say is, in FPS games it's usually Space because 'up' or 'W' is not possible, that's taken for walking forward already. That being said, I agree with you that Space for jumping is not necessarily a bad choice in 2d games.

in this game (W)it is empty

Dude, don't assume your opinion is a fact. And if you express your opinion, phrase it more politely.

Really cool mechanic!

that is good game , thanks for sharing
tree branch extension was good idea

(+2)

The sprites are irresistibly cute, and the opening is very easy to understand and play, even though it does not use any language.

The puzzles are not that difficult, although they require a little bit of thinking, and the controls for both the character and the puzzle part are very easy to use, so I was able to enjoy playing without stress because I could operate the puzzles in a short time even though they use different controls.

(+1)

This is a bunch of fun!

Is this part solvable I can't seem to figure it out?

It is! Unfortunately, the export settings on the webGL build are slightly off making this puzzle much harder than it should be. It's still possible, but much harder than intended! We're looking into fixing this soon, but until then you could try it out on the windows build.

Thanks for playing,

Not sure if I'm playing the same build, but I found this one of the better puzzles to be honest, making good use of the roots mechanic.

(+1)

I went ahead and downloaded the windows build and it was not an issue to solve :)

Spoiler:

First move the mushroom up with the bottom root, then push the mushroom off the concrete with the top root. Then stand on the mushroom, retract the bottom root and grow it upwards under the mushroom, with you on it.

Appreciate it. On the Web version I could not access the top root as it was cut off so the mushroom could never be pushed over. It was not an issue in the downloaded version.

Ah you are right, I already forgot about that, also because I considered it an extra dimension to the puzzle. I moved the top root while I was jumping up, moving the viewport up as well each time, took me a few tries though.

Oh... I tried that and I could not get it to work in Firefox. Maybe more doable in Chrome or some other browser?

Cute and intuitive, Fantastic puzzle design and just enough to explore lateral thinking.
